Fostering Services

Fairfield County Protective Services provides the following to agency foster and foster-to-adopt parents:

  • Information and answers to questions so individuals and families can determine if foster care or foster-care-adoption is right for you
  • Local Pre-Service classes as fundamental training for the unique role of parenting children via foster care or foster-care-adoption
  • Local, ongoing classes offered by experts to enhance learning and doing as you parent children via foster care or adoption
  • Some reimbursement for costs related to caring for foster children with additional financial support for some mileage, graduation expenses and child care according to agency policy
  • Medical and dental care provided for the foster child through a Medicaid provider
