A belief central
to the operations of Fairfield County Job and Family Services
and the Board of County Commissioners is children grow best in
their own families with the support of a committed community.
And that, from birth, every child deserves a safe and permanent
home. Almost all parents in Fairfield County share this belief
and lovingly and responsibly provide both for their children.
Demographics
support that most parents in Fairfield County do a good job
raising their children. To illustrate: Public Child Protective
Services
Association of Ohio (PCSAO) documents that in 2005 Fairfield
County’s Population was 129,161 with 33,647 children under age
18. During this same year, Fairfield County Child Protective
Services
received 1,565 reports of Abuse or Neglect. This data proves
that ninety six percent of Fairfield County's households are
doing an acceptable job raising children.
However, when a
child’s safety or well being becomes a concern, speedy
provisions of protective services are essential, day or night,
to assure children are safe. Fairfield County Child Protective
Services
is the state regulated, county managed entity empowered with the
responsibility to:

reports of child maltreatment

of family function regarding safety of children
-

-
Secure and
