Family Based Care
Social Workers help families identify and obtain necessary
services to overcome underlying behaviors and conditions which
create an unhealthy or unsafe environment for children. Case
Plans are developed outlining the needed changes, and
necessary services, to assure safe, healthy, and Permanent
homes. If parents are unwilling or unable to make the changes
needed to assure the well-being of their children, more
intensive intervention- including Court intervention and out of
home placement may be required. When timely reunification is not
possible, the Family Based Care Social Worker must petition the
court for permanent custody.
